At the moment, IMO State is playing host to 54 Beauty Contestants of Miss University Africa which is holding from November 15 – 30 2018.
During the reception of the African Beauties, His Excellency Rochas Okorocha admonished promoters of beauty pageantry and entertainment industry in the country to borrow a leaf from the organizers of “Miss University Africa” who are strict on ensuring discipline and restoring the core African values and dress sense by restricting its contestants from exposing parts of their body under any guise stressing that,the essence of such events should be used for educational brain storming especially on how to advance the course of academic developments not nudity.
The Governor made the assertion when he received in audience, contestants from the 54 African countries who arrived Owerri for the “Miss University Africa” Grand event holding from November 15-30, 2018.Owelle enumerated the major role of Female education in promoting the society sighting the inclusion and involvement of women folk in the Rescue Mission Government as unprecedented. He assured the beauty bees of serene and secure environment throughout their stay and promised to embark on tour of scenic sights of the state in the course of their stay.
The wife of the Governor,Ugonneoma Nkechi Okorocha, Deputy Speaker, IMO State House of Assembly, Ozurigbo Ugonna and host of other government functionaries where on hand at the reception.
